Hiking

This is an amazing tumble of river rocks with a hiking path alongside the most scenic parts. Take care, as the rocks here can be slippery.

To get there: Take Route 11B from Malone, heading west. In Dickinson, turn south onto Doug Smith Road, and then east onto Cemetery Road.

This road starts out paved, but by the 3.1 mile point it is unpaved. Turn south (right) at the T intersection with Conservation Road. It is 0.8 mile to the falls, where there are places to park.

Camping

There are two primitive campsites along the way.

Swimming

At the namesake Split Rock is the deepest and most tranquil part of the river, which is where the swimming hole is located.
