This painstakingly restored house is the original boyhood home of Almanzo Wilder and the farm is the site of the book, Farmer Boy, written by his wife, Laura Ingalls Wilder. The site also features replica barns and a one- room schoolhouse, a trail to Trout River, museum, and gift shop.

Last tour on all days 3:00 p.m. sharp, but it’s best to come earlier to allow plenty of time to browse the grounds, gift shop, and museum and so your tour is not rushed. Tours are best enjoyed by those 6 and over.
