Cycling
Follow the Salmon River for the first half of this 21 mile loop. This route offers many interesting sights such as Chasm Falls, an underground house, bridges and rivers, and the walking paths of the Malone Recreation Park, with a foot bridge over the source of Rotary Lake. A highly scenic day trip!
Heading east on W Main Street (Route 11) look for a right hand turn just before the Salmon River Bridge onto Harrison Place, but make an immediate left onto Duane Street.
Soon Duane Street passes the Malone Rec park, which has walking paths, a lake, and amenities in season. Continue on towards Whippleville, a scenic small town with a convenience store.
Pass Titus Mountain Family Ski Center, which has events in the summer and is a source of great maple syrup cooked down in their own sugar house. Shortly after, there is the amazing Chasm Falls, which roars down a rocky gorge on one side of the road, contrasted with a calm lake on the other side of the dam.
The intersection of Fayette Road offers some intriguing choices. Taking Fayette Road To Webster Street is a neighborhood ride back north to Malone, or return via Route 30, with its wide shoulders and country vistas.

Or continue on Duane Road onto Pond Road at the 7.6 mile mark. into the Titusville Mountain State Forest, to take the High Falls - Titusville Mountain hike for a side trip for another fabulous waterfall.
