Fishing, swimming, and evenings by the fire -- sounds like camping in Malone! Enjoy the lakes, forests, and rivers of the northern Adirondack Mountains in style with these four awesome, family friendly campgrounds. You'll find the comforts of home and the serenity of nature all rolled into one!
Deer River Campsite
It's all about tranquility and nature at Deer River. Located on the shore of Deer River Flow, a 2.5 mile-long lake, this campground provides visitors with jaw-dropping views of the northern Adirondack Mountains, accessibility to quiet hiking trails, great fishing, and miles of winding streams to explore. Just choose from one of 84 wooded campsites and then embark on the adventure that's right for you. Whatever that is, you'll come back to clean restrooms, laundry facilities, a playground, limited WiFi, a store, cafe, two recreation buildings, and boat and canoe rentals.
High Falls Park Campground
Modern facilities, events, and a 120-foot waterfall make High Falls Park Campground a real hidden treasure in the Malone region. This place has it all -- overnight sites, seasonal sites, and even campers for rent if you don't want to bring your own. There amenities are plentiful and include a swimming pool, miniature golf course, basketball court, and baseball diamond, and the main building has a snack bar, laundry machines, satellite television, ping-pong table, and a work area complete with internet access. The main draw, though, is the easy hiking path to the 12,000-year-old High Falls, located in a pretty little gorge on the Chateaugay River. Don't miss the special events like the annual field days, Christmas in July, and Halloween.
Meacham Lake Campground
The largest campground on this list, Meacham Lake offers a secluded nature experience combined with easy access and plenty of amenities. The main campground has more than 170 sites for tents and RVs, while the west campground has about 50 primitive and walk-in sites. Either way, you'll have access to the 1,203-acre Meacham Lake, which boasts a beautiful sandy beach and all of the fishing and boating you can handle. Don't have a boat? No worries, canoes and rowboats are available to rent. There's also hiking nearby, including Debar and St. Regis mountains. Environmental interpreters, volleyball, horseshoes, kids playground, restrooms, and showers round out the offerings here.
Babbling Brook R.V. Park
Babbling Brook is more than an R.V. campground. Located along the Salmon River, which offers a variety of popular fishing spots, campers here will find more than 50 tent and R.V. sites in a laid-back, family friendly environment. Free summer concerts punctuate the summer months, and picnic tables, fire pits, and laundry facilities will make you feel right at home.
